- While single layer nuisance dust masks can help keep you safe during light construction or cleaning activities, they offer little protection against very small particles traveling through the air, like germs from a cough or sneeze, or fine non-poisonous dusts. For protection against small particles, a mask with filtration material, a particulate respirator is often required.
- This N95 Particulate Filtering Respirator is designed to help provide reliable respiratory protection of at least 95 percent filtration efficiency against certain non-oil-based particles such as those from grinding, sanding, sweeping, sawing, bagging, or other dusty operations. This respirator can also help reduce inhalation exposures to certain airborne biological particles (examples: mold, Bacillus anthracis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis), but cannot eliminate the risk of contracting infection, illness, or disease. This respirator is compatible with a variety of protective eye-wear and hearing protection.
